Dear Friends,

The Fifth Ward and Downtown Pregnancy Centers exist to provide practical and compassionate support in a non-judgmental atmosphere to anyone facing the possibility of a pregnancy-related crisis. All of their services are free and confidential because we believe everyone should have access to information and resources relevant to their pregnancy and child.

One of the services the pregnancy centers provide is to offer basic infant supplies to new moms after the birth of their babies. The centers are in great need of supplies to be donated, most especially newborn sleepers, oneies, t-shirts, blankets, baby wash cloths and towels, diapers (size 1 & 2), pacifiers, socks, baby rattles, baby comb and brush sets, baby lotion, baby oil,  and baby powder. Items for babies must be new (because of health regulations), but the centers do accept gently used maternity clothes.

1. We cannot accept used bouncer seats, care seats, strollers etc. with straps because a Pregnancy Center was sued when it gave a client a used car seat and the strap broke. The child was injured, and it resulted in a law suit against the Pregnancy Center. Now all Pregnancy Center ministries, sign a document agreeing we would not give clients used items such as car seats, bouncer seats, walkers, etc. in order to receive liability insurance I hope you understand.

2. Regarding used baby clothes. Since 75% of our clients are Abortion determined and/or Abortion vulnerable, we provide new infant items as a means of encouraging her to continue the pregnancy. Our priority at the pregnancy center is the abortion determined woman. Our goal is to not duplicate services currently available in the community.  We have a specific mission. We are providing (with your help) new infant items to women who are considering aborting their unborn child. No one else in the community is addressing this specific need.  The promise of new baby items makes a difference to a woman in a crisis pregnancy situation.  When a young lady walks into the grace closet, and witness God's provision, her imagined "boogie man" disappears. The fear of lack, or fear of "I will not be able to provide", or "I cannot have this baby because I cannot give my baby what it deserves" no longer exists. We remove the fear with new items from you, the Church of Jesus Christ! Our strategy is to Glorify God and get results. We need the Church to help us in this endeavor. Thank you for understanding our mission.

3. We will accept the gently used items maternity clothes.

Thank you for your love for women in unplanned pregnancy situations.
