Allison's Story

I am writing to personally thank you and your staff! I would not have made it this far if it wasn't for the support I received from you. Every single day, I am grateful that Houston Pregnancy Help Centers popped up first when I googled for help. I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for us, from the time I made that very first phone call.

Nine months ago, I faced one of the greatest challenges of my life.  I had just recently graduated from college, and landed my first public relations job with an awesome firm.  Then four days into the job, I fainted and was rushed to the hospital only to find out I was 7 weeks pregnant. My thoughts and emotions went in overdrive and I was searching for direction from anyone who would give it. I could not concentrate on anything other than, "I just started my dream job, and now I'm pregnant! This is not what I had planned for my life!" One morning, I got up to pray and asked God for help. I googled the words, "pregnancy help in Houston." Your Downtown and Fifth Ward locations were the first resources available. I called and that phone conversation with Jaci is what saved me - her voice would not leave my ear - I cherish that consultation. The first thing she did when I met her was to give me a long hug and told me, "I felt that was what you needed." Jaci treated me with so much compassion, I knew God had answered my prayer.

The entire visit confirmed that I was supposed to be there. In the months that followed, I attended the Center's childbirth and nutrition classes that gave me all the necessary material I needed to be wiser and better prepared. I will always be grateful for you and HPHC because every time I look at my baby girl, I'll be thanking you for being a big part of our lives!
